Google and CAB team up to promote online safety

GoogleThe Citizen's Advice Bureau (CAB) has teamed up with Google in a bid to promote online safety in the UK.

Gillian Guy, the CAB's chief executive, told The Telegraph: "Information's a powerful tool for preventing problems from arising in the first and safety, personal data and identity theft are among the top concerns of people of using internet".

GCAB Building Bridges for Debt

Gibraltar Citizens Advice Bureau (GCAB) has set up a Money Advice Clinic. This has come about as a result of a sharp rise in the number of serious debt problems being brought to the bureau.

One in five of all CAB clients need advice on debt problems. The Citizens Advice Bureau has become the largest single provider of free, independent and expert debt advice.

Gibtelecom replacing old Panic Buttons

The replacing of old Panic Buttons by Gibtelecom with new and better technology is now well under way.

However, the Gibraltar Senior Citizens Association is shocked and dismayed to learn that in some cases, the units that Gibtelecom was supposed to replace have been thrown away without regard or concern that the alarm phones are under the guardianship of the association and not private property that can be disposed of.

The association has issued instructions that replacement is on a one for one basis. Where there is no emergency phone to replace, none is to be installed. As far as the association is concerned, the act of disposing of this life saving equipment signifies that this facility is not required.
